She’s thrilled to embark on new projects as she starts her career in the industry. When she isn’t reading, writing, or editing, she is usually watching dystopian movies or attempting new recipes with her partner.

Petrina is a third-year Linguistics and Social Anthropology student currently studying at the University of Edinburgh. Having been raised in Hong Kong and Canada, she understands the importance of uplifting underrepresented or challenging voices, and is honored to work for a company who promotes these values. Petrina has been interested in the publishing world since immersing into the book world during lockdown. She has since joined the Edinburgh University Publishing Society, the Student Newspaper, and volunteered at book festivals. She is excited for a new challenge at Jasami and working with other like-minded people to produce quality books! In her spare time, she also enjoys watching films (and writing film reviews), knitting, and jogging.

Kirsty is currently studying for a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Strathclyde. From an early age, writing and sewing together her own story books to getting lost in the world of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five, the world of literature has always been one of her greatest passions. She is over the moon to work as an Intern at Jasami, pursuing her dream in making this world her career, and is excited to help authors bring their stories to the world. When not delving into books or poems, Kirsty is out in the hills camping, swimming and adventuring.

Graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree from the University of Paisley, I have spent the past 15 years working in finance. A career path that was destined to be right from my youngest days where I always demonstrated a passion for counting money, especially my own! I have lived in Scotland all my days and have an affinity with several local charities. When not working my major passion is football, however, I also enjoy travelling and listening to music.

Although originally from Weymouth in Dorset, on the southwest coast of England, I arrived in Scotland in 1986 when I was working as a field archaeologist. I travelled across Scotland for four years, working Roman Forts, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Viking settlements. I changed career to tour guide when I moved to Glasgow in 1991 and founded the Spirit of Glasgow Tour Company and offered walking tours, including: The Ghost Tour, Victorian Square Mile of Murder, Afternoon Tea Tour and Historic Pub Tour. My experience as a tour guide and knowledge of both Glasgow and Edinburgh gave me my first professional writing opportunity in 1995 when I wrote “The Best of Edinburgh and Glasgow” for Absolute Press.

In 1997 my life changed forever when I opened an old door and found a long-forgotten music hall. The experience was so profound I began a campaign to save it. Today it is open to the public as the world's oldest surviving music hall, the Britannia Panopticon, and is famous for the debut of a teenage Stan Laurel.

In 2007 I wrote “Stan Laurel and Other Stars of the Panopticon” for Birlinn and in 2014 (after the first edition had sold out) I rewrote it and changed some of the chapters and Birlinn republished it as "Glasgow's Lost Theatre - The Story of the Britannia Music Hall".

I have also occasionally been a contributor on documentaries for BBC, Sky Atlantic and STV (Scottish Television) - including being a regular guest presenter, researcher, and writer on The Riverside Show and People's History Show.

Currently I am promoting my soon to be published book “The Magic Lantern” (you can see me reading some of the chapters on our YouTube channel) and I am now proud to be part of the Jasami Publishing and Productions CIC family.
